Garry Woodruff Takes First Place at Newfound

From Division 2 (New Hampshire) ……May 10, 2009…… Garry Woodruff from Candia, New Hampshire is one step closer to the 2009 ABA National Championship with a 1st Place win and $245 in the American Fishing Tour Division 2 tournament held on Newfound this past weekend. Garry’s two bass limit was comprised of 2 smallmouth, and weighed in at 8.30 pounds. He targeted staging prespawn smallmouth in 2 to 6 feet of water using a homemade shaky head jig and a swimbait. Second place went to Chris Perry with a limit weight of 7.52. Coming in third place was Don Conrad with a limit weight of 6.12. Big bass was awarded to Garry Woodruff for catching a 4.22 pound smallmouth.  All fish were released back into the lake alive.

These anglers are acquiring valuable points to insure their berth in division’s two-day champion and the American Fishing Tour Regional Championship that will be held in the fall of 2009 on Pickwick Lake.

Starting with this tournament and throughout the 2009 season, Division 2 anglers have a chance to win valuable prize packages from local and national sponsors. Anglers are chosen in a random draw from all of the anglers in the tournament and a received a selection of prizes that included GRIZZ BAITS™ and BioEdge products. All anglers also received products from Lowrance and SmartShield in appreciation of fishing with Division 2 and the American Bass Anglers.

Division 2’s next tournament will be on Sunday July 12 at Ossipee Lake starting from Ossipee Lake Marina. We have a 15 boat limit (30 anglers) so sign-up early.

Great East - May 3, 2009

Michael Vining Takes First Place at Great East Lake

From Division 2 (New Hampshire) ……May 3, 2009…… Michael Vining from Woburn, Massachusetts is one step closer to the 2009 ABA National Championship with a 1st Place win and $259 in the American Fishing Tour Division 2 tournament held on Great East Lake this past weekend. Mike’s three bass limit was comprised of 2 largemouth and 1 smallmouth, and weighed in at 10.15 pounds. Second place went to Kevin Miller with a limit weight of 7.86. Coming in third place was Dan Szumiesz with a limit weight of 7.80 Big bass was awarded to Michael Vining for catching a 5.54 pound largemouth.  David Guichard caught the lunker smallmouth weighing in at 2.64 pounds. All fish were released back into the lake alive.

These anglers are acquiring valuable points to insure their berth in division’s two-day champion and the American Fishing Tour Regional Championship that will be held in the fall of 2009 on Pickwick Lake.

Bow - October 26, 2008

Cory Nearing Takes First Place at Bow Lake

From Division 2 (New Hampshire) ……October 26, 2008…… Cory Nearing from Bethlehem, New Hampshire is one step closer to the 2009 ABA National Championship with a 1st Place win and $281 in the American Fishing Tour Division 2 Early Bird tournament held on Bow Lake this past weekend. Cory’s four bass were comprised of 2 largemouth and 2 smallmouth, and weighed in at 11.91 pounds. He caught his fish using a spinnerbait and jerkbait on points and rocky shallow coves. Second place went to Michael Vining with a weight of 11.50. Coming in third place was Steve Hosken with a weight of 10.59. Big bass was awarded to Garry Woodruff for catching a 6.22 pound largemouth (a new division record).  Steve Hosken caught the lunker smallmouth weighing in at 3.67 pounds.

Pawtuckaway - September 28, 2008

Michael Vining Takes First Place at Pawtuckaway Lake

From Division 2 (New Hampshire) ……September 28, 2008…… Michael Vining from Woburn, Massachusetts is one step closer to the 2009 ABA National Championship with a 1st Place win and $259 in the American Fishing Tour Division 2 Early Bird tournament held on Pawtuckaway Lake this past weekend. Mike’s five bass limit was comprised of all largemouth and weighed in at 15.24 pounds. He caught his fish swimming a jig in shallow coves. Second place went to Don Conrad with a weight of 9.86. Coming in third place was David Guichard with a weight of 7.28. Big bass was awarded was to Don Conrad for catching a 4.91 pound largemouth.  David Guichard caught the lunker smallmouth weighing in at 1.49 pounds.
