Northwood - July 17, 2011

Joe Spinello Takes First Place at Northwood

From Division 2 (New Hampshire) ……July 17, 2011…… New ABA member Joe Spinello is one step closer to the 2011 ABA National Championship with a 1st Place win and $259 in the American Fishing Tour Division 2 tournament held on Northwood this past weekend. Joe's 5 bass limit weighed in at 10.73 pounds. Garry Woodruff came in second with a 5 bass limit weighing 9.91 pounds. Don Conrad was in third with 5 fish weighing 9.80 pounds. Don Conrad had the lunker with a 3.03 pound largemouth . Don Mayer had lunker smallmouth with 2.18 pounds.

These anglers are acquiring valuable points to insure their berth in the division’s two-day champion and the American Fishing Tour National Championship that will be held this fall.  Their points are also being used to determine the divisional angler of the year. The top angler by points earned in this division will represent the division in the Angler of the Year final round.

Conditions: Hot and sunny (upper 80s to low 90s) with generally sunny skies all day. The water temperature was in the upper 70s.

Winning Strategy: Joe targeted shallow areas with jigs and plastics to catch his limit of largemouth.

Northwood - July 10, 2011

Michael Vining Takes First Place at Northwood

From Division 2 (New Hampshire) ……July 10, 2011…… Michael Vining is one step closer to the 2011 ABA National Championship with a 1st Place win and $245 in the American Fishing Tour Division 2 tournament held on Northwood this past weekend. Mike's 5 bass limit weighed in at an impressive 19.70 pounds. Dan Szumiesz came in second with a 5 bass limit weighing 13.25 pounds. Don Mayer was in third with 5 fish weighing 10.40 pounds. Mike also had the lunker with a 4.75 pound largemouth . No smallmouth were weighed in.

These anglers are acquiring valuable points to insure their berth in the division’s two-day champion and the American Fishing Tour National Championship that will be held this fall.  Their points are also being used to determine the divisional angler of the year. The top angler by points earned in this division will represent the division in the Angler of the Year final round.

Milton 3-Ponds - June 26, 2011

Dan Szumiesz Takes First Place at Milton 3-Ponds

From Division 2 (New Hampshire) ……June 26, 2011…… Dan Szumiesz is one step closer to the 2011 ABA National Championship with a 1st Place win and $259 in the American Fishing Tour Division 2 tournament held on Milton 3-Ponds this past weekend. Dan's 3 bass limit weighed in at 7.76 pounds. Don Conrad came in second with a 3 bass limit weighing 7.61 pounds. Tom Sardinha was in third with 3 fish weighing 6.73 pounds. Don Conrad had the lunker with a 3.06 pound largemouth and Mark Wells had the lunker smallmouth at 1.30 pounds.

Conditions: Moderate (low 60s to upper 70s) with fog and low clouds hanging around until noon then generally sunny skies. The water temperature was in the low 70s.

Winning Strategy: Dan targeted shallow grass with a frog to catch his limit of largemouth.

Jim McGuire Takes First Place at Lake Winnisquam

From Division 2 (New Hampshire) ……May 8, 2011…… Jim McGuire is one step closer to the 2011 ABA National Championship with a 1st Place win and $281 in the American Fishing Tour Division 2 tournament held on Lake Winnisquam this past weekend. Jim's 2 bass limit weighed in at 5.61 pounds. David Guichard came in second with a 2 bass limit weighing 5.48 pounds. Assistant Director Don Mayer was in third with 2 fish weighing 5.17 pounds. Dan Szumiesz had the lunker with a 4.95 pound largemouth.

These anglers are acquiring valuable points to insure their berth in the division’s two-day champion and the American Fishing Tour National Championship that will be held this fall.  Their points are also being used to determine the divisional angler of the year. Conditions: Cool (mid-50s to low 60s) and moderate winds with generally sunny skies until midday with a passing rain storm. The water temperature was in the low 50s to low 60s degrees depending on the area of the lake.

Winning Strategy: Jim targeted shallow flats with a jerkbait to catch his limit of smallmouth.

Jonathan Duclos Takes First Place at Great East Lake

From Division 2 (New Hampshire) ……April 30, 2011…… Jonathan Duclos is one step closer to the 2011 ABA National Championship with a 1st Place win and $393 in the American Fishing Tour Division 2 tournament held on Great East Lake this past weekend. Jonathan's 3 bass limit weighed in at 11.63 pounds. Donald Stewart came in second with a 3 bass limit weighing 7.11 pounds. Garry Woodruff was in third with 3 fish weighing 6.89 pounds. Jonathan also had the lunker with a 5.75 pound largemouth.

These anglers are acquiring valuable points to insure their berth in the division’s two-day champion and the American Fishing Tour National Championship that will be held this fall.  Their points are also being used to determine the divisional angler of the year. Conditions: Cool (upper-40s to mid-50s) and moderate winds with generally cloudy skies most of the day until weigh-in started when the sun came out. The water temperature was in the low to upper 50s degrees depending on the area of the lake.

Winning Strategy: Jonathan targeted shallow banks and coves with a small creature bait.

Jim McGuire Takes First Place at Bow Lake

From Division 2 (New Hampshire) ……October 17, 2010…… Jim McGuire from Dracut, Massachusetts is one step closer to the 2011 ABA National Championship with a 1st Place win and $299 in the American Fishing Tour Division 2 Early Bird tournament held on Bow Lake this past weekend. Jim's 5 bass limit weighed in at 13.82 pounds. Returning ABA member, Cory Nearing, came in second with a 5 bass limit weighing 8.99 pounds. Tom Sardinha was in third with 4 fish weighing 7.91 pounds. Jim also had the lunker with a 4.59 pound largemouth.

These anglers are acquiring valuable points to insure their birth in division’s two-day champion and the American Fishing Tour National Championship that will be held next fall.  Their points are also being used to determine the divisional angler of the year. The top angler by points earned in this division will represent the division in the Angler of the Year final round.

Don Mayer Takes First Place at Pawtuckaway Lake

From Division 2 (New Hampshire) ……September 25, 2010…… Don Mayer from Bartlett, New Hampshire is one step closer to the 2011 ABA National Championship with a 1st Place win and $220 in the American Fishing Tour Division 2 Early Bird tournament held on Pawtuckaway Lake this past weekend. Don's 5 bass limit weighed in at 9.07 pounds. New ABA member, Chad Bishop, came in second with a 5 bass limit weighing 7.02 pounds. Steve Bosjlie was in third with 3 fish weighing 5.19 pounds. Don also had the lunker with a 3.69 pound largemouth.
